FRIDAY'S 9.30am-11am (Term Time Only)

@ HORNSEA NURSERY SCHOOL, WILLOWS DRIVE IN THE COMMUNITY ROOM

Hornsea Childrens Centre work in partnership with Hornsea Nursrey School to deliver this popular cooking session. With the excellent service provided by FareShare we are able to access a range of ingredients to create healthy and delicious meals. Families and friends join us each week for a handy cooking session and to socialise with the added benefit of taking tea home for the family!

This session is aimed at the adults and so many parents attend without their children to give them the freedom to get really 'hands on' in the session. That is not to say babies and young children are not welcome, as some parents would struggle to attend due to childcare issues, we welcome the children in too!

For the Children

In the community room, children have access to a range of resources and activities to keep them busy whilst the adults get involved in the preparation and cooking. Older children are welcome and often eager to help their parents and carers with the preparation work.

For the Parents/Carers

Access to all the ingredients needed to create a fantastic meal to take home, often the only resource you need to provide is a cooking dish or tub to take your food home in!

We have recently invested in a new Cooker and hob as well as lots of kitchen utensils to enable everyone to get involved with preparing and cooking. Meal inspiration ideas and handy cooking tips and tricks are shared between members to help our families get the most our of their cooking sessions. Many of our families comment on the welcoming atmosphere and new faces quickly become 'regulars'.
