IN THE COMMUNITY ROOM

Our group has been running for a few years now and is as popular as ever with our families and friends. Both the families who attend the group and the staff who run the group will always make you feel very welcome. We occasionally have a member of staff from the Children's Centre visit the group to provide extra support should any of our families need help with issues like potty training, sleeping problems, feeding or teething.

For the Babies

In the Community Room there is a baby area set up with play mats and baby gyms, soft toys, cushions and bean bags, rattles, interactive toys, board books and a pull-up cube. There's always lots to keep your baby busy! Babies also have access to our Sensory Room where you can 'Relax' and 'Chill Out' with your little one while they explore the 'Trailing Fibre-optic' lights, watch the colourful fish in the large 'Bubble Tube', experience the large 'Light and Sound' boxes and explore using their senses to use the selection of baby sensory toys that are also available. Cold refreshments are also provided for you in this room. 

For the Toddlers

"ACCESS ALL AREAS!!!" The Community Room has a variety of activities set up each week which are changed on a weekly basis-to help make each visit to the group exciting and different. There is a book corner with a selection of interactive and board books for the toddlers to enjoy and share with their friends. There is a 'cosy corner' where toddlers can chill out and relax and sit back and take in all the surroundings. The toddlers can also experience the 'Great Outdoors' as they have access to our fabulous nursery garden where they can enjoy the mud kitchen, the beach area, the building area and they can even observe our nursery chickens! The toddlers can also go inside the nursery and join in with the exciting learning. Trying different activities from colour mixing in the painting area, making potions in the science lab to building and creating in the block area. We also offer a 'Snack time' within our group, which we encourage the toddlers to join in with our nursery children within the nursery, therefore the toddlers can experience snack time to the full. This includes trying new foods and washing up and drying their snack pots! Each week the snack is different and the toddlers can enjoy some different foods and a drink of water or milk

For the Parents/Carers

Not only will you be made to feel welcome on arrival to our 'Baby & Toddler Group', but you can take the time you need to play and interact with your baby or toddler. We ask that you sign in on arrival and wear a sticker which says 'I'm with the Baby & Toddler Group', therefore when you are accessing all areas of the nursery the nursery staff know you're from our group. The staff within the group are there to help support you in any way they can from chatting to signposting you onto different sessions and keeping you in the 'Nursery Loop' by offering you newsletters, leaflets from other agencies and offering you relevant information. There are also refreshments available for you so you can also relax and chat to other adults and make new friends, we ask that you pop a lid on your drink and keep it out of reach of the babies and toddlers. The drinks station is situated on the side in the kitchen area.

We know from feedback from our families who come to our group on a regular basis love having the 'ACCESS ALL AREAS', love using the sensory room and we feel they genuinely take ownership of the group. So why not come along and see what you think? We would love to meet you and your little one.
