Having opened in September 2018, the outdoor nursery has got off to a flying start. Children have already weathered their first winter - and what a winter it was! With strong winds, and frosty starts the children were thrust into the most British of Weathers! Nothing held them back, as they geared up each day in thermals, waterproofs and warm hats and scarves there was nothing they couldn't handle. A warm up by the campfire with tasty snacks such as porridge, beans and soup all carefully cooked by the children and their teachers, gave them all the fuel they needed for mornings filled with exploring and learning.
The arrival of their very own special space - the yurt - was a moment of celebration for the children and staff. They now have a base which they make full use of, a wonderful greeting space, shelter when it is needed, but most importantly a place where they can reflect on their time outdoors and make plans for their next experiences.
Our outdoor nursery is a place where children can direct their own learning, fully immersed in nature, and experiencing all of the seasons and the changes that come with them.
Please check under the 'what will your child do? - Picture Gallery' tab to see some wonderful pictures of the children's experiences.
